Where Sovern House
comes from
Sovern House was founded by a Canadian with over 30 years of full-time experience living and working in Asia. Not visiting - living. The relationships, the language fluency, and the operational know-how were built over decades on the ground, not assembled from a directory.
Flooring became the core - a category where certification requirements, factory knowledge, and QC discipline separate credible sourcing agents from catalog resellers. Over three decades the supply chain deepened across China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia. The categories evolved; the discipline didn't. Every engagement is built on the same foundation: direct factory access, quality control at source, and total transparency on pricing.
The Mandarin fluency is material, not incidental. Factories say different things in Chinese than they say through an interpreter. What gets negotiated, what gets caught in QC, and what gets resolved when something goes wrong - all of it is different when the conversation happens in the right language.
Sovern House is the formalisation of that thirty-year network. A buying house built to give western importers the kind of Asia presence that would otherwise require their own office, their own team, and years they don't have.

The 30+ year supplier network combined with native-language access to both our sourcing and destination markets gives us reach most western buying houses cannot replicate.
Our presence in Egypt is supported by a Country Manager based in Zagazig - handling buyer relationships, local compliance, and Arabic-language communication across the Egyptian aftermarket.
